Dr. George Walker provides the morning keynote address and responds to the conference theme: "Answering the Carnegie Initiative Call to Action: Rethinking Social Work Doctoral Education." The all-day conference on May 2, 2009 was hosted by the DU Graduate School of Social Work in recognition of the 40th anniversary of its doctoral program. The event included several visioning exercises and discussions led by former GSSW Doctoral Directors, GSSW's first Notable Scholar Award, and presentations by three national scholars: Dr. George Walker, Dr. Ann Nichols-Casebolt, and Dr. Virginia Richardson.
